Hours before the joint press statement of US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former US President Barack Obama said in an interview on Thursday (US local time) that During his conversation with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Biden should mention the issue of “protection of Muslim minorities”. Obama further said that if he talks to Modi, he will discuss the rights of ethnic minorities in India and what will happen if their rights are not protected.

And we’ve seen what happens when you start having these kinds of big internal conflicts. This would be against the interests of India.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a press conference at the White House in Washington said that there is “absolutely no room for discrimination” in India. PM Modi’s statement came in response to a journalist’s question about the steps being taken by the government to improve the rights of Muslims and other minorities.

Speaking about the rights of ethnic minorities in India, PM Modi said, there is absolutely no place for discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion.
US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted PM Modi for a state dinner, an honor usually reserved for America’s closest allies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day state visit to the United States, where he was given a warm welcome by the Indian diaspora.
