Anju has come to meet Nasrullah in Upper Dir tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on a valid visa. According to an official document sent by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, the office informs that it has decided to grant Anju a 30-day visa only for Upper Dir district. The people of the Pashtun-dominated village want Anju to return safely to India as they do not want the incident to bring disrepute to their community. Anju’s husband Arvind, a resident of Rajasthan, has expressed hope that his wife will return soon. Anju has a 15 year old daughter and a six year old son.
