The trophy is in lieu of the ‘Bangladesh Trophy and Medal’ instituted at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun in December 2021, the army said in a statement. The Army Chief will inspect the Passing Out Parade and present the ‘Bangladesh Medal and Trophy’ at IMA, Dehradun on 10 June. General Pandey here on Monday met his Bangladeshi counterpart General S. M. Shafiuddin Ahmed and discussed various aspects of mutual interest as well as ways to further expand bilateral defense and security ties.
The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), the media wing of Bangladesh’s armed forces, said in a statement that the two army chiefs discussed existing bilateral relations and future cooperation for the progress of the two countries. “The visit of the Indian Army Chief is expected to contribute significantly in promoting relations between Bangladesh and India,” it added. The Indian Army chief had visited Bangladesh in July last year on his first foreign trip after taking over the top post.
