An Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter were found dead in their mansion in Massachusetts, US, in what authorities described as a domestic violence situation. The bodies of Rakesh Kamal, 57, his wife Tina, 54, and their 18-year-old daughter Ariana were found Thursday evening in their Dover mansion near Boston, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said. Tina and her husband previously ran a defunct education system company called Edunova.
District Attorney Morrissey said it was a domestic violence situation, adding that a gun was found near the husband’s body. They did not say whether all three family members were shot dead, the New York Post reported. Morrissey said he was awaiting the medical examiner’s decision before deciding whether to refer the incident as a murder or suicide.
Records showed that the couple had been facing financial problems in recent years. The district attorney said that their bodies were discovered when a relative came to see them after there was no news of them for about two days. Morrissey said there were no prior incidents reported at the home. Morrissey said there have been no police reports, no problems at that house or the entire neighborhood and no domestic issues.
