Patel was charged with an offense under the Cheating Act, but when convicted, he told the school about the matter. On 12 May, the panel recommended a ban on Patel from the profession for at least two years, which was accepted by the Department of Education. As per the injunction, Patel cannot teach at any school, sixth form college, relevant youth residence or children’s home in England. The panel said that Patel has a right of appeal to the King’s Bench Division of the High Court.
