India’s performance in Asian Games

India has broken the record of medals won in the past by winning 86 medals so far in the Asian Games being held in Zhangzhou city of China. The number of medals will increase by the end of the Games. The number of medals will change even before the article is published. Till now India has won 86 medals including 21 gold medals. Earlier in 2018, India had won 70 medals in the Asian Games held in Jakarta.

The number of medals has increased due to India’s good performance in shooting and athletics. The results of many other competitions including boxing, wrestling and hockey are yet to come. Indian players are in good position in these sports also. In hockey, the Indian team has already reached the finals.

Of course, China dominates the Asian Games, but India has now reached fourth place in terms of medals. After Japan and South Korea comes India. Haryana players have made a special contribution to India’s stellar performance in the Asian Games. Haryana players have so far won 21 medals which include 7 gold medals, 3 silver and 11 bronze medals. By the end of the Games, along with the country’s medal tally, Haryana’s medal tally will also increase. This is for sure.

There was a time when Punjab used to dominate the sports world, today the situation is the same in Haryana. It is the result of the sports policy adopted by the Haryana Government in the past that the players there are now succeeding in making their mark at the global level.

The Honorable Government of Punjab has also made a new policy to promote sports and sportspersons in the state and Sports Minister Meet Hayer is taking personal interest and working towards strengthening the infrastructure required for sports in the state. By organizing games at the school level, players are being identified. Harmilan Kaur and Tejinder Pal Singh Tur of Punjab have also brought glory to the state and the country with their performance.

It is worth noting that the Punjab Government had given financial assistance to the players going to the Asian Games even during their practice. As far as the Central Government is concerned, we can say that Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur himself has been a national level cricket player. . His success is the result of dedication and rigorous training. Jenna’s success is also fantastic. Ojas and Jyoti’s skill and teamwork won gold in archery. The men’s relay team also performed exceptionally well.

Overall, we can say that the country is celebrating today in the Asian Games because of the policies of the state governments and the country’s government and the dedication, hard work and tenacious life of the players. In this celebration, let us not forget that our next goal should be to reach the first three places. Japan and S. Korea is a small country in terms of population, but is ahead of us in the medal table.
