In response, he said that according to a new government report tabled in the UK Parliament, the primary challenge to domestic terrorism in the country is from Islamic terrorism, and the apparent link to terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda and Islamic State is paving the way for wider online extremist influence.

Indian-origin minister Braverman said her department would use the updated version of the report to develop a more agile and comprehensive approach to combating the terrorist threat. “Since the last version of the report was published in 2018, there have been nine terrorist attacks in the UK, killing six people and injuring 20. 24 Britons have been killed in 11 terrorist attacks abroad. The majority of these were Islamic terrorist attacks,” he said.

These threats are difficult to predict, detect and investigate. He said that there is a growing threat from Islamic groups abroad. He said the primary challenge to domestic terror in the country is from Islamic terrorism, and the apparent link to terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda and the Islamic State is paving the way for wider online terrorist influence.
