On this he said that not only Russia and Ukraine are bored with the war but the whole world is also bored. He said that even in America, opposition to giving aid to Ukraine is increasing. Vivek Ramaswami, who is in the race to become the Republican Party candidate in the presidential elections, has even criticized the war-torn country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky for asking for additional funds from America for conducting elections in Ukraine. The uproar seen in the US Parliament regarding Ukraine shows that it will be difficult for President Joe Biden to help this war-affected country in the future. He said that the ministers of the European Union have definitely tried to show Zelensky by going to Ukraine that they will continue to get help, but if seen at the domestic level, the people of European countries are also standing against giving any more help to Ukraine.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that the way Ramaswami in America has said that if he is elected the President of America, he will cut the aid given to Ukraine, it will become a big issue in the upcoming presidential elections there. If that happens, it will be difficult for anyone to stand up to help Ukraine. He said that we should also see that Ramaswamy has also said that we should not appease anyone. He said that just because Putin is an evil dictator does not mean that Ukraine is good. He told that Ramaswami said, “Ukraine is a country which has banned 11 opposition parties.” This is the country that merged all media organizations into one government media arm, whose president praised a Nazi last week and has threatened to destroy America this year if it doesn’t get more money. The country will not hold general elections in Ukraine.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that on the other hand, Russia has demonstrated its strength by conducting nationwide exercises to see the country’s preparedness to deal with emergencies amid the war with Ukraine. Under this, sirens were sounded across Russia and TV stations stopped regular programs and broadcast warnings. The exercise began on Tuesday after Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow and other cities. Amid the drills, Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defense systems shot down 31 Ukrainian drones in border areas early Wednesday, he said. As part of the exercise, TV channels broadcast a notice that read, “All be alert.” The readiness of the public warning system is being tested. Please remain calm.”

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that the Russian media said that the exercise highlighted the growing threat of conflict between nuclear powers and simulated a response to a situation in which 70 per cent of the habitat was destroyed. And all critical infrastructure has been destroyed and the wider area has been contaminated with radioactive material. He said this scenario echoes Kremlin warnings that Western support for Ukraine increases the risk of direct conflict between Russia and NATO. Coincidentally, the US federal government has also tested its emergency alert system, he said. He said that it has been designed in such a way that the President can talk to the American people in 10 minutes through mediums like radio and television during a national emergency.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that Russia’s preparations show that President Putin knows that victory is certain but he is dragging the war to teach a strong lesson to the western countries supporting Ukraine. He said that Putin has now started the game of increasing psychological pressure on Ukraine because he understands that due to the approaching presidential elections, America will no longer be able to help Ukraine much. He said that just as Ukraine is not able to cause any major damage to Russia despite all the resources and training received from Western and NATO countries, on the contrary, Russia is increasing its occupation of Ukrainian land day by day and is holding elections in the occupied areas. By appointing his administration either by election or nomination, it shows that Ukrainian President Zelensky is now fighting a losing battle.
