US President Joe Biden once again slipped on camera. He made another mistake when speaking about his administration’s efforts to tackle inflation in the country. Instead of saying the US has the lowest inflation rate in the world, Biden said the US has the lowest inflation rate of any country in the Americas. Biden said in his address in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that wages are rising faster than prices and we now have one of the lowest inflation rates of any country in the US. ,Yet, we are struggling to reduce it even further.
Biden said these things while defending his economic policies while addressing an event in Wisconsin. The comments come as Biden’s bid for the presidency comes amid concerns over his advancing age and mental acuity. Biden, 81, the oldest US President, is set to face his predecessor and Republican rival Donald Trump in a rematch of the 2020 election on November 5, 2024. Biden’s mental health and aging have recently come under scrutiny. This led to concerns that he was not suitable to run for a second term as the presidential election approached.
The president’s health was in the news earlier this year, when a special counsel investigating Biden for improperly storing classified documents suggested he was suffering from mental decline due to his age. The 345-page report describes him as a sympathetic, well-intentioned elderly man with a weak memory.
