International Women’s Day: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, more than 20 women were honored in Capitol Hill of America. Women of Indian origin were also included in the women who received the honor. These women have been honored with the Outstanding Women Award at the US Capitol Hill in Washington. According to a report in news agency ANI, longtime US Representative Danny Davis, Congressman Jonathan Jackson, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez and Indian American Congressman Raja Krishnamurthy presented the awards at the 11th annual Congressional International Women’s Day celebration.

According to the ANI report, the women who were honored include politicians, journalists, social workers, businessmen and educationists. It is special among all that all have made significant contribution in their respective fields. ANI’s White House Correspondent Reena Bhardwaj is also among the women receiving the honour. She was also honored with the Woman of Excellence Award.

Honored by these women: The women honored included American politician Jennifer Prince, NASA Goddard Deputy Director of Engineering and Technology Dr. Joanne Hill-Kittel, Chicago-based psychiatrist Dr. Mercedes Martinez and others. On this occasion, Dr. Hill said that after receiving this award, I am feeling very honored. She also said that I am being recognized as one of the top 20 global women of excellence on International Women’s Day.
