Iran opens new consulate in Dashmik after Israeli attack – Dainik Savera Times

damascus: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday inaugurated a new consulate building in the Syrian capital, Damascus, following last week’s Israeli attack. Mr Abdallahian attended the opening ceremony of the new consulate along with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad. This building is located next to the previous building which was demolished by an Israeli missile attack a few days ago.
Mr. Abdullahian arrived in Damascus on Monday afternoon for his first visit to the country since the Israeli attack on the Iranian Consulate on April 1. The attack killed senior leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a veteran commander. Who led the IRGC foreign operations wing, the Quds Force, in Syria and Lebanon.
He held meetings with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and Syrian national security officials during his visit to Damascus. The foreign minister, speaking at a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, confirmed that Israel would take the necessary response to the attack on the consulate, while also blaming the US for the incident.
He said the lack of US condemnation of the Israeli attack on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus indicated that the US had given Israel the green light to commit this crime. He said the attack was carried out using American fighter planes and missiles. He reiterated that the Israeli attack will not go unanswered. Mr. Mekdad condemned the Israeli attack on the Iranian Consulate, calling it a violation of international law and all the values on which humanity is based.
