Tehran. Iran’s army has killed senior commander of Jaish al-Adl terrorist group Ismail Shahbakhsh and some of his associates in Pakistan. This information has been given in a media report. The incident comes a month after both countries carried out air strikes on each other’s territories.
In a post on Twitter, Iran International Media quoted the country’s state media as saying: ‘Military forces killed Ismail Shahbakhsh, a senior commander of the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group, and some of his associates, in a gunfight inside Pakistani territory. ‘
According to a news, Jaish al-Adl, a Sunni extremist organization declared as a terrorist organization by Iran, is mainly active in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan. After increased tension between the two countries, both had recalled their ambassadors.
Pakistan’s concern is that Baloch terrorist organizations find refuge across the border in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province, while Tehran claims that anti-Iran terrorist groups such as Jaish al-Adl have bases in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province. Following diplomatic efforts, both countries restored bilateral relations and agreed to reinstate ambassadors.
