tehran (Uttam Hindu News): Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei led prayers at the funeral of Brigadier General Seyed Razi Mousavi, killed by Israel.
“The supreme leader paid tribute to the tireless struggle of this martyr,” Iranian media reported.
Iranian media reports said mourners chanted “death to America, death to Israel” during Mousavi’s funeral at Iraq’s most revered Shia shrine in the city of Najaf.
On Wednesday, Brigadier General Mousavi was killed in an air strike in the Sayida Zainab area near the Syrian capital Damascus. He was a high-ranking official in the IRGC and was coordinating Iran’s military operations in Syria.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has said that Israel will have to pay a heavy price for the killing of Brigadier General Razi Mousavi.
Israel has alleged that Brigadier General Mousavi was responsible for supplying weapons and materials to Hezbollah.
The Israelis have alleged that Iran and its IRGC are supporting Hamas and Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, “Tel Aviv is facing trouble.”
