Kommersant, citing unnamed sources close to the presidential administration, reported that officials suspect Putin may announce that he will run in the elections in March next year as part of a conference in November.

The Kremlin said on Tuesday it knew nothing about a report by the Kommersant newspaper that Russian President Vladimir Putin could announce next month that he will run for re-election in the March presidential election. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov was speaking to journalists in a telephone briefing. Russian President Vladimir Putin may soon signal he will run in the 2024 presidential election, paving the way for the Kremlin chief to remain in power until 2030, the Kommersant newspaper reported on Tuesday.
