Addressing the inaugural session of the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, US, eminent religious leader of the Jain community Acharya Lokesh Muni urged religious leaders to work together to find solutions to the issues of climate change and terrorism. More than 10,000 religious leaders from more than 80 countries are participating in the five-day World Parliament of Religions. Addressing the World Parliament of Religions on Monday, Lokesh Muni said that the world is currently facing many challenges, some of which pose a threat to the entire creation. He said that global warming, climate change, terrorism and violence are issues that everyone is grappling with.
He said that people of different religions, creeds, countries and ideologies can come together to find solutions to these problems.He said, “Sarva-religion harmony is necessary to solve global issues. The World Parliament of Religions in 2023 will prove to be a milestone.” The inaugural session of the World Parliament of Religions was attended by hundreds of eminent personalities, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and veteran US leader Nancy Pelosi. Lokesh Muni is the founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati which works for peace and emphasizes on non-violence.
The eminent Jain religious leader said that it was a matter of pride for him to represent Jainism and Indian culture on such a historic occasion.
