Jaishankar said that India had raised the issue of photographs of Indian diplomats in Khalistani posters with the Canadian authorities.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday warned Canada against giving space to Khalistani elements. Jaishankar’s statement came after it emerged that Khalistani threat posters in Canada had the names of Indian diplomats. Jaishankar said that India had raised the issue of photographs of Indian diplomats in Khalistani posters with the Canadian authorities. He said that the Government of India has approached partner countries like Canada and United Kingdom and requested them not to give space to Khalistani groups. He warned that this would affect relations between the countries.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of BJP’s outreach campaign, the External Affairs Minister said that we have talked to our partner countries like Canada, America, Britain and Australia, where Khalistani activities sometimes take place. Has requested not to give place to Khalistanis. Because they (Khalistani) are fanatics, extremist thinking is neither good for us, neither for them nor for us.
Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that we are already in touch with our partner countries like Canada. We have requested them not to give space to Khalistani groups. Jaishankar said, I believe this poster was released a day back and it has already been taken up with the concerned country through appropriate channels.
