)North Korea said Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has proposed talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Kim’s sister and senior official Kim Yo Jong said this in a release issued to government media on Monday.
Kim Yo Jong told that Kishida has expressed his desire to meet Kim Jong Un. However, he did not mention through what medium Kishida had communicated in this regard.
He said it was up to Japan to improve bilateral relations. Kim Yo Jong said that if Kishida tries to resolve the issue of North Korea’s alleged abduction of Japanese citizens in the past, he may also face accusations that he is doing so only to increase his popularity.
