In the information sent to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bezos has informed about the sale of 1,19,97,698 shares of common stock on February 7 and 8.
According to the statement, the value of these shares of Seattle’s Amazon is more than $2.04 billion. Bezos started Amazon in a one-car garage nearly three decades ago. The shares were sold in five blocks ranging from Rs 10 lakh to more than Rs 32 lakh. Bezos resigned as CEO of Amazon in 2021 to devote more time to rocket company Blue Origin and charitable work. His address in SEC is listed as Seattle. However, it is said that he is now living in Miami.
