Cheema, however, said in a talk show that he did not believe this time that Lt Gen Ghani had deliberately invited protesters inside the Corps Commander’s official residence in Lahore. The founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, also known as Quaid-e-Azam, bought this house in October 1943. Three months later, the Punjab government confiscated it and made it an army mess. Jinnah’s house is 130 years old. Jinnah is also called the Father of Pakistan. This house actually belonged to an Indian Hindu. Its owner was Mohan Lal Bhasin. According to several documents, this house was already being used by the army before independence. It was taken over for official use during the British rule. At present, it is the official residence of the 4 Corps Commander of the Pakistan Army.
