Controversial posters inciting violence were used at the rally with pictures of Indian High Commissioner Vikram Duraiswamy and Consul General of India in Birmingham Dr. Shashank Vikram. A large number of policemen were present during the protest, which ended very soon. A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police had said before the protest, “Appropriate policing will be done.”

Earlier this week, after anti-India posters by Khalistani extremists were made public on social media, the UK government declared that any attack on the Indian High Commission in London was unacceptable. He had said, ‘The direct attack on the Indian High Commission in London is absolutely not acceptable.’
