The vehicle manufacturing company said in a statement that this decision has been taken in view of the increase in commodity prices and supply chain related costs. Kia sells Seltos, Sonet and Karens models. The company has decided to increase the prices of its vehicles for the first time this year.
In this regard, Hardeep Singh Brar, Head (Sales and Marketing) in India, Kia India, said that the company is constantly striving to provide premium and technologically advanced products to the customers. “However, due to persistent rise in commodity prices, unfavorable exchange rates and rising production costs, we are forced to implement partial price hike,” he said. Kia has so far sold 11.6 lakh vehicles in India and foreign markets.
