Kathmandu : Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s visit to India is still in headlines in his country. Nepal’s opposition is continuously criticizing his visit and calling it a ‘failed tour’. Chief opposition leader KP Sharma Oli, who was the Prime Minister of Nepal, has taken a jibe at Prachanda’s visit to India. The opposition alleges that Prachanda failed to raise issues related to the border dispute in India. At the same time, Nepali PM is saying in his defense that this was the first time that any Nepali PM raised this issue so seriously in front of India.

CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli criticized Nepal’s Prime Minister Prachanda’s visit to India, terming it as ‘disastrous’. He targeted the Nepali PM over ‘Prachanda’s failure to raise border issues with India’. Oli sarcastically said, ‘Did PM Prachanda refrain from raising border related issues during his visit to India due to Ukraine crisis?’ Oli said that Prachanda failed to properly represent the views and concerns of the Nepali people during his visit.

Oli had taunted earlier also

Even before this, Oli had criticized Prachanda’s visit to India. He had alleged that several protocols were not included in his visit to India. Terming Prachanda’s visit as a ‘failure’, Oli said no ‘historic achievement’ was achieved in it. He sarcastically said, ‘To say Prachanda’s only achievement is to get 12 buffaloes from India.’ Oli’s party leader Pradeep Gyawali had also said that Nepal did not benefit from Prachanda’s visit.

Prachanda had also visited the Mahakal temple of Ujjain during his visit to India. He saw Lord Shiva and offered special prayers at the temple. Some leaders in Nepal had also objected to this, in response to which Prachanda had said, ‘I am a communist as well as a prime minister.’ On Saturday, Prachanda reached Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu and offered prayers. During this, many ministers of Nepali cabinet were present with him.
