On January 24, Liu Qianchao, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met Indian Ambassador to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat.
Liu Qianchao said improving relations between China and India is beneficial to creating a better neighborly environment, promoting the rapid development of the two countries, and contributing to global and regional peace, stability and development. In accordance with the framework of bilateral relations set by the leaders of the two countries, the Chinese side is willing to cooperate with the Indian side to continuously enhance exchanges between the 1.4 billion Chinese and 1.4 billion Indian peoples.
He also said that for practical cooperation between the two sides, mutual trust has to be strengthened while suspicions have to be eliminated. It is necessary to create a conducive environment for cooperation. We hope that both sides will give priority to each other’s core concerns and support each other towards modernization while promoting unity in international and regional affairs.
Furthermore, he further said that the Chinese side will strive to restore our bilateral relations to a healthy state in the new circumstances, striving to achieve stable development through maintaining friendly exchanges with Indian political parties.
At the same time, Indian Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat stressed the immense importance of bilateral relations and acknowledged the long-standing friendship between India and China. Under the guidance of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Indian side is dedicated to enhancing relations between our two countries by finding common ground, exchanging information and taking forward cooperation.
He also said that differences should not dominate India-China relations. It is hoped that both sides will move forward together, finding a way for cooperation and coexistence to benefit the people of both countries and contribute to regional and global peace and development.
