Such pictures came for the first time
James Godfrey, stationed at ESA’s Mission Control Center in Darmstadt, Germany, issued a statement on this. He said, ‘It usually happens that the photos coming from Mars are seen which were taken some time ago. But now we will be able to see this planet in real time and will be as close to this planet as possible. He said that no one had seen such pictures of Mars in live streaming.
ESA says that often the data and its observation of the Red Planet occurs when no spacecraft is in direct contact with the Earth. So the photographs are stored until they are sent back.
Message anywhere in 22 minutes
The photos from space depend on where Mars and Earth are in their orbits around the Sun. So messages traveling through space can be sent in anywhere from three to 22 minutes. ESA estimated that traveling directly from Mars to Earth the photographs would take about 17 minutes to be ready and then It will take another minute through the wires and servers on Earth to start the live stream.
stars disappearing from the background
The space agency said in its statement, ‘Note that we have never tried to do anything like this before so the exact travel time for the signal to the ground remains a bit uncertain.’ Institute scientist Colin Wilson said that no stars are visible in the background of the photographs because Mars is very bright.
