Washington, 04 August (Hindustan Times). The five-day World Parliament of Religions will be inaugurated on August 14 in Chicago. Eminent Jain Acharya Lokesh Muni from India has been invited as a speaker in the inaugural ceremony. This information has been given in the release issued here on Thursday by Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti and World Peace Center.
In the release, Lokesh Muni, founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati and World Peace Center, has said that he has received an e-mail from the World Parliament of Religions. In this he has been invited as a speaker in the inaugural ceremony as well as in the interfaith session. He will also address two other sessions on Climate Change and World Peace at the World Parliament of Religions.
Dr. Raghunath Bhide, Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari has also been invited in this Parliament of Religions. Bhide has written 15 books. He has been decorated with Padma Shri in 2017. Around 10,000 delegates from 80 countries will participate in the World Parliament of Religions. It is believed that this will be the largest conference of religious leaders in the world. It is notable that Swami Vivekananda had left a special impression on the spiritual world by participating in the World Parliament of Religions in the year 1893. At that time Veerchand Raghavji Gandhi participated on behalf of Jainism.
