Police said on Wednesday that the government’s Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) had organized a folk fair in Sargodha city, about 200 km from here, where the incident took place on Tuesday.

A lion in Pakistan’s Punjab province seriously injured a 20-year-old man who was trying to take a selfie with it. Just a week ago, a man was mauled to death by four lions in a zoo in the same province.

Police said on Wednesday that the government’s Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) had organized a folk fair in Sargodha city, about 200 km from here, where the incident took place on Tuesday.

According to the police, the injured person has been identified as Mohammad Amin, who was taken away by the lion when he came too close to the animal. Police said Amin was seriously injured and was admitted to a hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be stable. Following the incident, the local administration canceled the fair.
