Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the terrorist attack at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall was carried out by radical Islamists, but many questions remain. ‘We know that the crime was committed by radical Islamists, whose ideology the Islamic world itself is fighting,’ Putin said at a meeting on Monday on steps taken after the terrorist attack.
According to a news agency report, the Russian President said that it is already known who carried out the terrorist attack, but now ‘we are interested in knowing who ordered the attack’. He said that America is trying to convince everyone that Kiev has no role in the genocide. Putin believes that questions still remain. He said, ‘It is important to get answers to many questions. For example, whether radical, even terrorist, Islamic organizations really wanted to attack Russia.’
Putin also said that it is necessary to answer the question why the terrorists tried to go to Ukraine after the attack on the Crocus Hall and who was waiting for them there. Describing the attack as an act of intimidation, Putin said, ‘The question is who was to benefit from this.’ Putin said the investigation into the terrorist attack should be conducted professionally, impartially and without any political bias.
