New Delhi, 08 April (HS). The stock market continues to rise steadily. On Monday, the first trading day of the week, the market capitalization (market cap) of companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) reached an all-time high of Rs 401.10 lakh crore for the first time.
Thanks to the rally in the stock market, the market capitalization (MCAP) of companies listed on BSE reached an all-time high of Rs 4,01,16,018.89 crore. This achievement has been achieved for the first time with a sustained rally in blue-chip, mid-cap and small-cap indices. In July last year, the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies had reached the Rs 300 lakh crore mark.
BSE first achieved market capitalization of Rs 100 lakh crore in March 2014, followed by Rs 200 lakh crore in February 2021. At the same time, in July 2023 it reached the level of Rs 300 lakh crore and now after just nine months it has reached the highest level of Rs 400 lakh crore.
It is noteworthy that the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex is currently trading at the level of 74,744.41 with a rise of 496.19 points or 0.67 percent.
