Market Update: Sensex and Nifty at all-time high in early trade

Sensex and Nifty reached their all-time high in early trade on Thursday amid positive trend in the global market. The steady inflow of foreign funds also boosted the rise in stocks.
BSE’s 30-share index Sensex jumped 339.36 points in early trade to reach its all-time high of 70,853.56. Nifty rose 115.45 points to its all-time high of 21,298.15.
Among Sensex companies, shares of JSW Steel, Infosys, Tata Steel, HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, Sun Pharma, Tata Motors and Reliance Industries were among the gainers. Shares of Nestle, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and UltraTech Cement were among the losers.
In other Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Composite, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei were among the gainers. US markets closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.55 per cent higher at $77.03 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3,570.07 crore on Thursday.
