Married Indian woman Anju became Fatima, married her Pakistani friend after converting to Islam

Peshawar: Anju, an Indian mother of two who came to Pakistan legally, married her Pakistani friend on Tuesday after converting to Islam. A senior police officer gave this information. Anju (34) is staying at the house of her Pakistani friend Nasrullah (29). They became friends on Facebook in 2019. The couple got married in the local court of the District and Sessions Judge. Muhammad Wahab, a senior officer at Moharrar City Police Station in Upper Dir district, said, “Nasrullah and Anju got married today and after she converted to Islam, the marriage took place.”

The police officer said the two appeared before the district court in Deer Bala in the presence of Nasrullah’s family members, police personnel and lawyers. Nasir Mehmood Satti, Deputy Inspector General of Malakand Division, confirmed the marriage of Anju and Nasrullah and said that the Indian woman has been named Fatima after converting to Islam. According to reports, Satti said that the Indian woman has been sent home from the court under police protection.

Earlier, on Monday, the two went out for a walk amidst tight security. Police officials said they visited the Lawari tunnel connecting Upper Dir district with Chitral district. In pictures from the sightseeing tour, Anju and Nasrulla were seen sitting in a lush green garden and holding hands. According to reports, Anju, who was born in Uttar Pradesh’s Kailor village and lives in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, shared a short video in which she says she “feels safe here” in Pakistan.

She said in the video, ‘I want to convey this message to everyone that I have come here legally and with a plan. It is not a matter of two days that I have suddenly come here. I am safe here.” Anju said, “I request all media persons not to disturb my relatives and children.” Anju is married to Arvind, who lives in Rajasthan. He has a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Anju came to Pakistan legally from India through the Wagah-Attari border. According to an official document sent by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry to the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi, it has been decided to grant Anju a 30-day visa only for Upper Dir district.

Nasrullah is a science graduate from Sheringal-based University and is the youngest of five brothers. Nasrullah had said in an affidavit to the local authorities that there was no love angle in their friendship and that Anju would return to India on August 20. According to the affidavit, she will not even go out of Upper Dir district. Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO) Mushtaq Khan had said on Monday, “She has come to Pakistan on a one-month visa and all her documents are valid.”

“Anju has come to Pakistan from New Delhi for love and is living here happily,” Geo News quoted Khan as saying. Anju’s husband Arvind told reporters in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi that his wife had left home on Thursday saying she was going to Jaipur but later the family came to know that she was in Pakistan. He hoped that Anju would return home soon. The case of Seema Ghulam Haider is similar to that of Anju. A mother of four and a Pakistani national, Seema entered India illegally through Nepal to live with Sachin Meena. Seema befriended Sachin in 2019 through PUBG. According to the Uttar Pradesh Police, 30-year-old Seema is living with 22-year-old Sachin in Rabupura area of ​​Greater Noida, near Delhi, where Sachin works at a grocery shop.
