At least 20 people were killed and more than 24 injured when a fire broke out after a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims crashed into a bridge on Monday, Saudi state media Gulf News reported. The accident happened at around 4 pm in Akbat Shar of Asir province.

It is being told that the collision took place due to brake problem in the bus. Gulf News reported that the bus hit a barrier at the end of a bridge, then overturned and caught fire.
“According to the preliminary information that we have now received, the death toll in this accident has reached 20 and the total number of injured was around 29,” Al Ikhbariya TV reported.

The TV channel said the victims belonged to different countries but did not specify their nationalities.
