San Francisco (Best Hindu News): Microsoft will reportedly launch a new version of ‘Microsoft Teams’ next month to improve its system resource usage on PCs and laptops. Microsoft is testing the new Teams client, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans, reports The Verge. There are plans to release a preview to users in March.
The tech giant has been working on this new Teams client for years and is internally calling it Microsoft Teams 2.0 or 2.1.
The new application is expected to consume up to 50 percent less memory, put less pressure on the CPU, and improve the battery life of the laptop. The report states that it is also likely to address several criticisms and complaints regarding the performance of Teams and will also include a toggle for users to switch back to the existing app.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the tech giant introduced new features in its Teams Premium, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5, to enable meetings with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The new features aim to make meetings more intelligent, personalized and secure – be it face-to-face, large meetings, virtual appointments or webinars.
