Modi’s 3-Day US Itinerary: Bilateral talks, joint press conference, dinner, meeting with overseas Indians, what is the full program of PM Modi’s second and third day

With the world grappling with geopolitical conflicts these days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States to strengthen ties with President Joe Biden is a significant moment for both countries. President Joe Biden will host Prime Minister Modi on June 22 for an official state visit to the United States, which will include a state dinner. This will not be the first time that PM Modi will address the US Congress.

Gifts given to Biden by PM Modi

The Prime Minister gifted the US President a sandalwood box, which symbolizes the rituals described in the ‘Vaikhanasa Griha Sutram’ of the ancient Indian text Krishna Yajurveda. According to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs, the text mentions ten types of charity. The box gifted to the President contained ten items representing these donations, including an idol of Ganesha and a lamp. He also gave him the first edition of the book ‘The Ten Principal Upanishads’ published by Faber & Faber Ltd. of London and printed at University Press Glasgow.

Day 2: June 22

Prime Minister Modi will reach the White House at 10 o’clock i.e. at 7:30 pm Indian time. There will be a grand welcome for PM Modi. On reaching the White House, a 21-gun salute will be given. During this, the band of the US Army will play the tune of the national anthems of India and America. 600 Indians will also be present to welcome PM Modi.

There will be bilateral talks between the two countries at the White House at 11:00-12:00 i.e. 8:30-9:30 pm Indian time. After this there will be a joint press conference.

PM Modi will address the US Parliament at 2:45-5:00 pm i.e. 12:15-2:30 pm Indian time on Thursday night.

PM Modi will attend the State Dinner held at the White House at 6:00 pm i.e. 3:30 am Indian time on Friday morning. Nina Curtis is a plant-based chef from Sacramento, California and is quite famous. The White House specially invited him for PM Modi’s visit. PM Modi is completely vegetarian. Entertainment is an important part of the State Dinner. Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell will play music during the dinner.

Day 3: June 23

PM Modi will meet some top business leaders in the morning.

At 12:30 pm i.e. on Friday at 10 pm Indian time, Vice President Kamala Harris and Foreign Minister Antony Blicken will organize lunch.

PM Modi will address more than 900 people from the business community at the Kennedy Center at 4:30 pm i.e. 2 pm Indian time.

Will participate in the program of Indian expatriates organized at Ronald Reagan Center at 5:30 am i.e. Indian time at 3 am on Saturday.
