PM Modi said that India’s growing aviation sector will need more than 2,000 aircraft in 15 years. Air India last placed an order for 111 aircraft in 2005. Then the order for 68 aircraft was given to Boeing and 43 to Airbus. The Government of India is paying special attention to strengthen the civil aviation sector. The number of airports in India has increased from 74 to 147 in the last eight years. This is promoting the economic and social development of the people.

During this, both the leaders described the Air India Boeing deal as the best example of mutually beneficial cooperation, which will create new employment opportunities in both the countries. Referring to the expansion of civil aviation in India, Modi invited Boeing and other companies to come to India. Both the leaders expressed satisfaction over the improving Indo-US relations. Both countries will also work for the success of G20 under the chairmanship of India. Earlier, Biden said that Air India would buy 220 aircraft from Boeing for $34 billion. Apart from this, there will be an option to buy 70 more aircraft.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hailed the “historic” deal between Air India, Airbus and Rolls-Royce and said it shows that the sky is the limit for the UK’s thriving aerospace sector.
