According to data from the Chinese National Immigration Administration, from December 1, 2023, China implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from six countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia, until December 31. A total of 2.14 lakh people have come to China, an increase of 28.5 percent since November. A total of 1.18 lakh people among them have come to China with ordinary passports without visa.
Looking at the reasons for entry, 91 thousand people came to China for sightseeing, leisure and business activities, of which about 77.3 percent were visa-free entry with ordinary passports.
As of December 31, a month after the entry visa-free policy was implemented, more than 12 thousand people from related countries entered China through Beijing without visas.
According to the relevant official of the Chinese National Immigration Administration, border inspection agencies across the country have been deployed at various ports to ensure the smooth implementation of the visa-free entry policy and to further promote the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign personnel. Prepare adequate police personnel on duty and open adequate inspection channels, so as to ensure efficient and smooth port customs clearance and provide convenience for visa-free entry personnel. In the future, the Chinese National Immigration Administration will further optimize entry-exit management service policies and measures, and coordinate with relevant departments to provide more convenience for foreigners coming to China for business, study, tourism, work and life .
