The Government of India has started Operation Kaveri to evacuate the Indians safely. Two jumbo jets of the Air Force and a warship of the Navy are involved in the rescue mission. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted on the process of evacuating Indians in Sudan, saying that Operation Kaveri is underway to bring back our citizens stranded in Sudan.
What is Operation Kaveri?
Kaveri This is on the same lines as the PM choosing to name the operation in Ukraine as Operation Ganga. Kaveri is one of the major Indian rivers flowing through the southern states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The river is sacred to the people of the region and is worshiped as the goddess Kaveriamma (Mother Kaveri). On the naming of this operation by the Modi government, another top source said that it is like a mother who will make sure that she brings her children back safely.

Explaining the rationale behind naming Operation Devi Shakti, sources said Goddess Durga is a protector and comes to the aid of people in distress. He said that the name of God helps in boosting the morale of people in stressful situations. PM Modi is a devotee of Maa Durga.
