Muslim Country On Yoga : International Yoga Program Organized In Muslim Country Dubai To Break Guinness World Record

Dubai : Thousands of people gathered at Dubai’s Zabeel Park in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday to take part in an international yoga event. The objective of the gathering was to break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of nationals from different countries participating in a yoga event. The event was organized by the Dubai Sports Council to promote the benefits of yoga for physical and mental health. More than 2000 people had gathered for the event, including children as young as 3 years old.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the maximum number of nationals from different countries participating in a yoga event is 114. This record was created by the Indian Sports Center in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Doha (Qatar) on 25 March 2022. According to the report, Yoga coach Najmah Deljendehroy said that it was a great event to mingle with like-minded people. Originally from Iran, Najmah has been doing yoga for the last 30 years.

‘Unbelievable experience doing yoga’

He said, ‘I have met people who do yoga regularly. It was an incredible experience to be a part of such an event. It was challenging to do yoga in the evening. Luis Gabriela Bajar, a three-year-old girl, also attended the event with her mother Lillian Bajar and neighbors. Lillian said, ‘She is interested in yoga and imitates me whenever I do yoga.’

‘Daughter also does yoga together’

Lillian started yoga only a few days ago and when she heard about the program, she made up her mind to participate. She said, ‘I practice every other day after learning from YouTube and sometimes my daughter also does yoga with me. I am a housewife and feel fresh. Montserrat, a Spanish citizen who has practiced yoga for years, also came to participate in the event with her husband and daughter.
