Kathmandu: Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Saturday that his recently concluded visit to China has strengthened the atmosphere of trust between Kathmandu-Beijing and deepened the historical relations between the two countries. Speaking to reporters at Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu after returning from China, Prachanda said that his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang have helped in taking Nepal-China relations to new heights.
The Prime Minister said, “During the high-level meetings, the Chinese President and Prime Minister assured that the earlier agreements with Nepal will be implemented expeditiously. Chinese officials agreed to reopen all trade routes between Nepal and China, which were closed during the Corona epidemic.” The Nepali delegation to China led by Prachanda returned to Kathmandu from Chengdu city on Saturday afternoon.
Prachanda had left for New York from Kathmandu on September 23 to attend the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly. The Prime Minister said that important discussions were held with Chinese officials regarding the regular operations of Pokhara Airport. He said that after some preparations, a direct flight will be started from Pokhara to Chengdu city of China.
