Balen Shah issued a statement on Thursday saying that he would not obey the Patan High Court’s order. In this order, the High Court had clearly given permission to show Indian films in cinema halls in Kathmandu. Following this order, Balen Shah issued a statement saying that he would not allow Indian films to be screened in Kathmandu. The Mayor of Kathmandu also said that he is ready to face whatever consequences for this.
Nepali analysts surround Balen Shah
The mayor of Kathmandu also alleged that both the court and the tyrannical government of Nepal have become slaves of India. He said that ‘when it comes to the sovereignty and independence of my country, I will not obey any law or court’. He said, ‘The intention of the writer of Adipurush film has become clear as he has claimed that Nepal will one day be under India’s control. The government of Nepal considers this move only a publicity stunt, while the court’s decision to show the film can be seen in such a way that it is more proof of Nepal being dependent on India.
Balen Shah claimed that he was ready to face any consequences but would not allow the film Adipurush to be screened in Kathmandu. Earlier, Balen had decided to stop the screening of Indian films last Monday. He claimed that in the film Adipurush, Sita has been called the daughter of India. He has said that until this dialogue is not removed from the film, he will not allow the film Adipurush to be shown in Kathmandu. On the other hand, Nepali analysts are terming this whole campaign of Balen Shah as childish and are advising that he should not spoil the relations between the two countries for the sake of cheap popularity.
