Nepal, March 14 (Hindustan Reporter) The Nepal government, which has been trying for many months to bring back the Nepali citizens recruited in the Russian Army, has so far been disappointed. The new Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, after talks with the Russian Ambassador to Nepal, has declared the return of Nepali citizens now impossible.

There is constant pressure from those families on the Nepal government to bring back the citizens recruited in the Russian Army to their home country. Diplomatic talks were held several times between Nepal and Russia on this demand but till now no success has been achieved. Narayankaji Shrestha, who holds the Foreign Ministry in the Government of Nepal, summoned the Russian Ambassador to Nepal on Thursday and took information about this. After the Russian Ambassador’s reply, the Foreign Minister gave a statement that the return of Nepali citizens from the Russian Army is a very complicated matter and it is almost impossible. However, Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha definitely said that the government’s efforts will continue.

Moscow has replied to the Nepali Embassy that the Nepali citizens recruited in the Russian Army have given their written consent and signed the agreement. Therefore, these soldiers cannot be returned until the situation becomes normal. The Nepal government has repeatedly requested Russia to cancel that agreement and return the Nepali citizens, but the Russian government has flatly refused to accept it.

Meanwhile, a video message of three Nepali citizens serving in the Russian Army is going viral on social media, in which an appeal has been made to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help on behalf of these soldiers. After the release of this video, there has been more pressure on the Nepal government.
