NMDC hikes iron ore lump price by Rs 100 per tonne, fines by Rs 200

In a communication sent to the stock exchanges, NMDC said that the price of iron ore fines has also been increased by Rs 200 to Rs 4,110 per tonne. The company said that the new prices have come into effect from Tuesday and do not include other taxes and duties.
New Delhi. The country’s largest iron ore miner NMDC on Tuesday announced a hike of Rs 100 in iron ore lump rates to Rs 4,500 per tonne with immediate effect. In a communication sent to the stock exchanges, NMDC said that the price of iron ore fines has also been increased by Rs 200 to Rs 4,110 per tonne. The company said that the new prices have come into effect from Tuesday and do not include other taxes and duties.
Lump ore and high grade iron contain 65.53 per cent iron while fines contain 64 per cent or less. Public sector company NMDC had earlier on February 2 announced an increase in the price of iron ore ‘lumps’ and ‘fines’ to Rs 4,400 per tonne with immediate effect. While the price of lower quality ore fines was fixed at Rs 3,910 per tonne.
