New Delhi: Rajesh Gopinathan, MD and CEO of the country’s largest IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), recently resigned from his post. He was associated with the company for 22 years and was leading it for the last six years. After resigning, he will remain with the company till September 15. But Tata Group wants to keep him associated with the company as an advisor even after 15 September. According to Tata Group sources, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekara is in discussion with Gopinathan in this regard. The group needs a reliable and experienced person, hence the initial round of talks are going on between the two executives.

However, Tata Sons and TCS, the holding company of Tata Group, refused to give any information about this. A source said that Gopinathan’s notice period will end on September 15. Even after this, Chandrasekaran has spoken to Gopinathan about retaining him in an advisory role in the Tata group. However, Gopanathan said in a press conference that he has no immediate plans to join the Tata group as an advisor. The board of Tata Group has designated Krithivasan as CEO in his place.
