Seoul (Best Hindu News): South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said on Tuesday that North Korea fired two ballistic missiles into the East Sea.
“Our military detected two ballistic missiles fired by North Korea into the East Sea from areas near Pyongyang between 11:55 p.m. on Monday and midnight on Tuesday,” it said.
Yonhap news agency quoted JCS as saying that the two missiles flew for about 400 km before splashing down in the sea.
According to the JCS, the military is still analyzing the North’s latest missile launches to determine the exact type of missiles fired.
North Korea’s latest missile launch came as the USS Annapolis, a nuclear-powered US submarine, arrived at a naval base in South Korea’s southern island of Jeju as part of efforts to strengthen joint deterrence against growing threats from North Korea.
North Korea fired two ballistic missiles into the East Sea on 1 July, followed by several cruise missiles on 22 July.
