North Korean leader Kim Jong Un praised the troops involved in the intercontinental ballistic missile test and said it is the country’s policy that it will not hesitate to launch a nuclear attack if provoked by enemy countries.
Nuclear weapons testing has increased in North Korea since last year and the country’s leader Kim Jong Un has threatened to use nuclear weapons several times.
However, many foreign experts say that North Korea has not yet acquired capable nuclear missiles. North Korea on Monday conducted its first intercontinental ballistic missile test in five months. North Korea cited the recent US-South Korean meeting to boost its nuclear programs.
The North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a report that Kim met with soldiers at the General Missile Bureau on Wednesday and congratulated them on the launch of the solid-fuel ‘Hwasong-18’ missile. According to KCNA, during the meeting, Kim said that “if the enemy provokes him with nuclear weapons, he will not hesitate in a nuclear attack.”
