NTPC, Hindalco, Bajrang Power get one coal mine each in auction

New Delhi. NTPC, Hindalco Industries and Bajrang Power & Ispat have been allotted one mine each in the seventh round of coal mines auction. In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Coal said that NTPC Limited has got Uttar Dhadu (Eastern part) coal block in Jharkhand which has 439 million tonnes of coal reserves. Hindalco Industries got Meenakshi West block in Odisha which has 950 million tonnes of coal reserves.
Bajrang Power & Ispat Limited has bagged the Pathora East Coal Block in Madhya Pradesh, which has coal reserves of 110.4 million tonnes. The ministry said, “When commissioned, these coal mines (excluding partially excavated mines) will generate annual revenue of about Rs 450 crore at their peak capacity. These mines will attract capital investment of Rs 600 crore and provide employment to 5,408 people. The government had conducted the seventh round of auction for allocation of coal blocks.
