NTT India to double revenue, data center capacity in two years

Japanese technology conglomerate NTT has set a target of doubling the income from its Indian operations in the next two years. Along with this, the company also intends to double the data storage capacity. Senior officials of the company gave this information on Thursday. NTT is a leader in the data center and cloud segment. The company will invest $2.5 billion over the next five years, most of which will be in Maharashtra.
This investment will be mainly done to increase the capacity of the data center, green energy and to set up a submarine cable unit. This investment is in addition to the $2 billion investment announced in 2018. NTT DATA is a $30 billion global IT services and data center provider and is the largest data center operator in India with a market share of 22 percent. Starting out as a telecommunications company, NTT Group has acquired nearly 100 companies over the years.
India is our fastest growing data center and IT services market, NTT DATA Global Chief Executive Abhijit Dubey and NTT DATA India Managing Director Sharad Sanghi told reporters here on Thursday. It is also their biggest market outside Japan, employing over 37,000 of its 3.5 million employees.
