Oil-oilseeds prices continue to decline despite improvement overseas

Despite the rising trend in foreign markets, the fall in edible oil prices continued in the Delhi oil-oilseed market on Thursday. During this period, except groundnut oil oilseeds prices, almost all other major oil-oilseeds prices declined. Market sources said that despite the improving trend in overseas markets, domestic oil oilseeds are not being consumed in the market as the local market is already saturated with imported edible oils.
Due to this, almost all oilseeds including mustard, soyabean oilseeds, crude palm oil (CPO) and pomeloin and cottonseed oil, except groundnut oil oilseeds (close at earlier levels) declined. Sources said that to increase the production of oilseeds, it is most important that the maximum retail price (MRP) system of retail selling companies should be fixed and the tendency to set MRP arbitrarily should be stopped.
For this, some arrangement should be made for all the companies to disclose their MRP on the official portal at regular intervals. Sources said that through this initiative rigging in oilseeds business can be stopped and consumers can get edible oil at the right price. For this, the government should take quick steps.
The prices of oil-oilseeds on Thursday were as follows: Mustard oilseeds – Rs.5,360-5,410 (42 percent condition rate) per quintal. Groundnut – Rs.6,825-6,885 per quintal. Groundnut oil mill delivery (Gujarat) – Rs 16,700 per quintal. Groundnut refined oil Rs 2,560-2,825 per tin. Mustard oil Dadri – Rs 11,140 per quintal. Mustard Pakki Ghani – Rs 1,760-1,790 per tin.
Sarson Kachi Ghani – Rs 1,720-1,845 per tin. Sesame oil mill delivery – Rs 18,900-21,000 per quintal. Soybean oil mill delivery Delhi – Rs 11,800 per quintal. Soybean Mill Delivery Indore – Rs 11,450 per quintal. Soybean oil Degem, Kandla – Rs 11,110 per quintal. CPO X-Kandla – Rs 9,000 per quintal. Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) – Rs 9,920 per quintal. Palmolin RBD, Delhi – Rs 10,470 per quintal. Palmolin X- Kandla – Rs 9,520 (without GST) per quintal. Soybean grain – Rs 5,280-5,410 per quintal. Soybean loose – Rs 5,020-5,040 per quintal. Maize Khal (Sariska) – Rs 4,010 per quintal.
