Rawalpindi: Pakistan is already trapped in economic crisis and its foreign debt is also increasing. In the midst of this, such news is coming which can increase the problems of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir. It has been told by the Eurasian Times that Pakistan’s army has canceled all military exercises till December this year due to lack of fuel. The website quoted sources as saying that the Director General of Military Training of the Army has written a letter to all field formations and headquarters. In this letter, it has been said to cancel all the exercises till December.

cancel maneuvers till december
According to the first reason mentioned in it, there is a shortage of reserve fuel and essential equipment. In military terms, reserve fuel is different from war reserve. War Reserves are for weapons and fuel required during a specific period. While reserve fuel is usually for internal military exercises and war drills. According to experts, a Pakistani T-80 tank consumes two liters of oil per kilometer. That is why Pakistan has canceled all armored and mechanized war exercises.

Challenges persist even after help
Pakistan has come out of the gray list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Along with this, it has also got a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). But even then the country is grappling with severe financial constraints. Due to the political situation in the country, the economic situation has also worsened. Political instability has further increased since the arrest of former PM Imran Khan on May 9. Violent protests against military officials, attacks on military installations like cantonments and headquarters, and even the burning of the national flag have been taken by the army. Because of this the situation has worsened.

inflation sky high
Pakistan is currently facing skyrocketing inflation. Because of this, citizens have to struggle even to meet their daily needs. The country has to pay Rs 262 per liter for petrol and diesel and up to Rs 164 per liter for kerosene oil. Earlier this year, several field commanders of the Pakistan Army had written to the Quarter Master General expressing serious concern over the lack of basic food items in the mess to feed their soldiers. Pakistan is passing through its worst economic crisis since gaining independence in 1947.
