Pakistan is currently facing skyrocketing inflation. Because of this, citizens have to struggle even to meet their daily needs. The country has to pay Rs 262 per liter for petrol and diesel and up to Rs 164 per liter for kerosene oil. Earlier this year, several field commanders of the Pakistan Army had written to the Quarter Master General expressing serious concern over the lack of basic food items in the mess to feed their soldiers. Pakistan is passing through its worst economic crisis since gaining independence in 1947.
