Pakistan Army Farming: Army engaged in looting Pakistan completely, now will also do farming, ‘captured’ 45 thousand acres of land

Islamabad: The Pakistani army, which runs more than 100 industries in Pakistan, is now going to do farming as well. Yes, the caretaker government of Pakistan’s Punjab province has handed over at least 45,267 acres of land to the army in three districts of the state, Bhakkar, Khushab and Sahiwal. Pakistan Army is now going to do ‘Corporate Agriculture Farming’ on this land. According to Pakistani media reports, the Army’s Land Directorate has written letters to several officials, including the Chief Secretary of Punjab. The Pakistan Army had demanded a total of 45,267 acres of land from the state.

According to the report of Dawn, the joint venture between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Punjab was signed on 8 March. Soon after this agreement, the state government had to hand over the government land to the Pakistan Army. According to sources, this agreement has been signed between the Punjab Government, Army and private companies. It has been claimed that the Pakistan Army will not get ‘any benefit’ from this deal but in reality only 40 per cent of the money earned will go to the Punjab government.

100 billion dollar business of Pakistani army

The report said that while the Punjab government would provide the land, the army would use its resources and manage the entire project. Whereas the private sector will invest in this project and will also provide fertilizers. The Pakistan Army has confirmed this development and claimed that it is not going to take the ownership of this land. The sources also claimed that the army would only provide the administrative structure. He said that this land is mostly lying vacant and there is either no crop on it or the yield is very less.

The management of this entire project will be done by the retired army officers and the Pakistan Army. Pakistan Army sources claim that the growth of the agriculture sector is continuously falling. The reason for this is the flaws in reforms and ineffective agricultural policies. Whatever the Pakistan Army may claim, but the reality is that it is making huge money by running more than 100 industries. Pakistan Army is selling everything from oil to fertilizers in the country. Apart from this, the army runs cement, electricity, education, sugar mills and hospitals. The Pakistan Army has a business of more than $ 100 billion inside and outside the country. At the same time, the annual GDP of Pakistan is only around 12 billion dollars. In this way, the business of Pakistan Army is more than 8 times of the total GDP of Pakistan.
