In a video shared on Twitter, a man is seen asking for money inside the plane. He says that I am not a beggar, I need money to build a madrasa in Pakistan, whoever wants can donate. In Pakistan, from rulers to senior military officers, they are not shy at all in asking for money. Often, from Pak PM Shahbaz Sharif to General Asim Munir, who became the army chief last year, has been seen extending his hand to Saudi Arabia and UAE for loans.
Pakistanis have begged earlier also
One such video had surfaced in 2018 as well, in which a frail looking man was seen asking for money in a flight. He was demanding money from other passengers sitting on the plane while the flight staff was trying to pacify him. After the video spread on social media, some sympathized with him, while others mocked the plight of Pakistan.
‘The risk of default has been averted’
Elections are going to be held in Pakistan this year. Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the term of the current parliament will end on August 14, after which the way for an interim government and new elections will open. In Islamabad, Shehbaz said that Pakistan has received USD 3 billion in aid from the IMF, which has averted the risk of default from the country. He said that the previous government had violated the IMF agreement due to which the country was facing bankruptcy.
